Winter salads

As the cold weather sets in most of us tend to avoid regular salads and indulge in heavy ( and more calorific) foods.

This is a great example of a healthy, low carb, high protein, warm salad that is so easy to make. I always use a base of puy lentils and then add any veg that I have in the fridge.

One of those heart warming ones....

This venison stew is an amazing one for those cold winter evenings. A real heart warmer, while being totally free from complex-carb.

At The Green Bootcamps we refrain from eating beef as it is a very unsustainable meat so using venison is a great, sustainable and lean alternative.

A healthy alternative to pizza

Lets face it, everyone loves a good pizza and sometimes it is the only thing that will satisfy your cravings.

But it doesn't have to be a greasy Dominos. This pizza recipe is inspired by Hemsley & Hemsley and replaces white flour with cauliflower and chickpea flour.

Healthy alternatives to comfort food classics

Instead of banning yourself from eating some of your favourite dishes, try modifying recipes to use healthier ingredients instead.

Like this indulgent gnocchi dish - I have supplemented plain flour for whole spelt flour and cream with creme fresh.

A well-balanced, low-carb dinner

Stuck for ideas on what to make for dinner? If you are trying to lose weight, it is best to stay away from complex carbs at night and choose meals higher in protein, good fats and non-starchy veg.

Our Recipes

At The Green Bootcamps we don't believe in fad diets, we only serve nourishing, delicious, whole foods that are naturally rich in protein and complex carbohydrates. We refrain from using any processed or refined foods or any simple carbohydrates. We try and grow as much of our own produce as possible, and source ingredients as locally as possible.

Many of our recipes are healthy adaptations of well-known dishes, inspired by our travels and by well-known chefs' recipes, as well as some of our own creations. There is a strong mediterranean influence in our foods due to our heritage and their simple, yet healthy eating practices.

We hope you enjoy eating these nourishing foods on our bootcamps and making these easy and simple recipes back at home.
